Last week we took an outing to the Springfield Museums, specifically because Anna wanted to see the dinosaur replicas housed in the Science Museum. The four museums that are a part of this system are located around a courtyard, known as the Quadrangle, and in the Quadrangle are bronze sculptures dedicated to Springfield native, Dr. Seuss.

A favorite book here in my house is none other than Dr. Seuss' The Lorax. Imagine Eliza's surprise when she walked through the stone entryway of the Quadrangle and came face to face with the pint-sized Lorax himself.

She didn't hesitate to climb right upon his stump and give him a big hug.

The rest of the sculptures are kid-friendly as well and encourage the children to climb and explore, which is exactly what the Misses Eliza and Harper proceeded to do.

The Fabulous Foursome

Oh yes, and the dinos were cool too.
